Automation with Python
The accredited person is able to implement comprehensive process automation solutions using the Python programming language to optimize data workflows and systems integration, building robust, maintainable, and verified scripts under professional continuous integration workflows, in a detailed manner.
Criteria
Autonomy: Plan, schedule, and monitor own work (and that of others, where applicable) competently within limited timeframes.
Influence: Interact with and influence colleagues.
Complexity: Apply a methodical approach to the definition and resolution of routine and moderately complex problems.
Skill: Identify the syntactic fundamentals of Python, modern dependency management with uv, and professional version control workflows on GitHub.
Skill: Explain data structuring mechanisms, file processing, REST API logic, and resiliency strategies against errors for the continuity of automated workflows.
Skill: Develop modular, end-to-end automation solutions applying object-oriented programming, performance optimization, and automated testing under continuous integration.
Student workload: 120 lecture hours and 218 hours of extracurricular work, for a total of 338 hours, equivalent to 7,5 academic costarrican credit.
Assessment: To pass the course with a final grade equal to or greater than 70.
